This SXSW audience award winner demonstrates near perfectly what a teen film should be. It has the feeling of reading a great book that a young mind can connect instantly with or that can transport an adult back to childhood. The ending might be slightly abrupt and falling on the side of somewhat unrealistic wish fulfillment, but it’s just so darn hopeful that you want to cheer for it anyway. And just like the best movies of your youth, it makes you want to believe in the good of people all over again.
