FKRTW Kickstarter Launch!

Posted on May 10, 2012 in General, Screenings

Today is the day that we are launching our Kickstarter Campaign for FAT KID RULES THE WORLD.   As many of you already know, FAT KID marks Matthew Lillard’s directorial debut and tells the story of TROY BILLINGS (Jacob Wysocki) an obese teenager struggling to find his place in the world.   The film premiered at SXSW and has received incredible reviews.  It went on to win the Audience Award for best feature in the Narrative Spotlight.

Unfortunately, mainstream distributors have not seen the same opportunity here that we know exists. They don’t see the upside in this classic underdog story where a fat kid who finds his way through punk rock music. So, this summer we will take an innovative and unconventional approach and launch the film in concert with the Vans Warped Tour.  We plan to promote the film across the country (42 cities in 55 days) and then release it in limited markets.

To do this, we need your support!

Please visit our Kickstarter page.  Check out our impressive selection of rewards and consider donating to this very worthy project.  We all say that we want to see movies that push the boundaries of the familiar – that enrich our understanding of the human experience.  FAT KID does all of this. It celebrates all that makes us different and all that ultimately unites as people. It’s got killer music, huge laughs and a heart as big and bad as anything you’ve ever seen on screen.

Thanks for your support.
